Submission & Publishing Terms

Thank you for considering RWI Publishing. Our goal is to support authors in bringing their work to market while maintaining high editorial and ethical standards. By submitting a manuscript, you agree to the following terms.
1. Eligibility & Submission Guidelines
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished works owned by the submitting author.
- We accept nonfiction, fiction, poetry, memoirs, Christian living, and children’s books, provided they align with our publishing values.
- Authors must be 15 years or older to submit a manuscript. If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign all legal agreements.
- Manuscripts must be submitted according to our submission guidelines (formatting, word count, etc.), which can be found on our website.
2. Review Process & Response Time
- All submissions undergo a thorough review process.
- Reviewing a manuscript may take up to 3 months, but we aim to provide a response as soon as possible.
- Authors will receive one of the following responses:
- Accepted: We will extend a publishing offer under one of our publishing models.
- Revision Requested: We may request edits before reconsideration.
- Declined: If a manuscript is not the right fit, we will notify the author.
- Due to the volume of submissions, we cannot provide individual feedback on declined manuscripts.
3. Exclusive & Non-Exclusive Submissions
- Manuscripts under active review by RWI Publishing should not be submitted elsewhere unless explicitly permitted in writing.
- If your manuscript has already been submitted to multiple publishers, you must disclose this information in your submission.
4. Publishing Models & Agreement
- If a manuscript is accepted, the author will be offered one of our publishing models:
- Independent Author Partnership (self-funded with publisher support, 10% publisher royalty).
- Collaborative Publishing Model (shared costs, 50/50 royalty split).
- Exclusive Publisher Program (publisher-funded, author receives 15% of profits).
- Each author must sign a publishing contract before proceeding with publication.
- The contract will outline the specific royalty structure, rights, distribution, and marketing responsibilities.
5. Author Responsibilities
- Authors must ensure their work is free of plagiarism and does not infringe upon any third-party rights.
- If an author makes significant changes after contract signing (e.g., major rewrites), RWI Publishing reserves the right to reevaluate the agreement.
- Authors are expected to engage in promotional efforts alongside RWI Publishing, as success depends on both publisher and author involvement.
6. Copyright & Rights Management
- Authors retain full copyright ownership of their work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- RWI Publishing receives a license to publish, distribute, and sell the book for the duration specified in the contract.
- If an author wishes to reclaim publishing rights, they must follow the contract’s termination provisions.
7. Withdrawal & Resubmission
- Authors may withdraw their manuscript before signing a contract by notifying us in writing.
- If an author wishes to resubmit a revised manuscript, they must wait at least 6 months from the date of the initial rejection unless otherwise invited to resubmit.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Submission Fees
- There are no submission fees for authors submitting manuscripts for consideration.
- Submitting a manuscript does not guarantee publication, and no fees are required for the review process.
2. Non-Refundable Costs
Certain costs incurred in the publishing process are non-refundable, including but not limited to:
- ISBN purchases (once assigned, they cannot be transferred or refunded).
- Barcodes and copyright registration fees.
- Any printing, distribution, or marketing expenses already incurred.
3. Editing Fee Refund Policy
- Editing fees are only refundable up to 50% of the total cost paid.
- A partial refund may be issued only if the effort to publish does not result in a published work within the timeframe stipulated in the author’s contract.
- If the author chooses to withdraw after editing has begun, no refunds will be provided.
4. Publishing Agreement Cancellations
- Once an author signs a publishing contract, they are expected to fulfill the agreement.
- If the contract is terminated by the author, RWI Publishing reserves the right to withhold refunds on any services already rendered or costs already incurred.
- If RWI Publishing terminates the contract, refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the agreement terms.
5. Book Purchase Refunds
- Physical Books: Refunds or exchanges are available within 30 days of purchase, provided the book is returned in unused condition.
- E-Books & Digital Products: All sales are final and non-refundable due to the nature of digital goods.

Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy

- License the book for retail distribution (e.g., bookstores, online platforms).
- The specific length and scope of the license are outlined in the publishing agreement.
3. Requesting Rights Reversion or Transfer
- If an author desires to retain or regain the rights to produce, distribute, market, or otherwise manage any aspect of their book’s publishing process (whether to self-publish or seek another publisher), they must:
- Submit a written request to RWI Publishing.
- Comply with the stipulations outlined in their publishing contract regarding rights reversion, termination, or transfer.
- Rights reversion requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and decisions will be made in accordance with the contractual agreement.
4. Unauthorized Use & Infringement
- Authors must ensure that submitted works are their original creations and do not infringe upon any third-party copyrights.
- RWI Publishing reserves the right to reject or remove works found to contain plagiarism, unauthorized content, or legal violations.
- Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of any book published by RWI Publishing without permission is strictly prohibited.
5. Adaptation & Licensing Opportunities
- Authors may grant additional permissions for adaptations, such as:
- Film, television, or audiobook licensing.
- Foreign language translations.
