Joshua E. Bishop writes with a voice that is lovingly blunt—honest enough to say what needs to be said, but pastoral enough to say it with care. Whether he’s writing about difficult conversations, eternal treasure, spiritual growth, or everyday life, his aim is not to impress readers with complexity, but to help them see clearly, think honestly, and move forward with purpose.
He’s the author of Awkward Communication, a practical and down-to-earth guide to navigating uncomfortable conversations with humility, courage, and clarity. His second book, Treasure Hunting, turns that same direct and thoughtful voice toward the Christian life, calling believers to pursue what lasts, store up treasure in heaven, and live with eternity in view.
Josh’s writing is shaped by his Christian faith, nearly two decades of pastoral ministry, and years of leadership experience in the startup world, and manufacturing. He has spent much of his life helping people work through hard moments, hard truths, and hard decisions—and he believes that honest words, when spoken with love, can become instruments of grace.
At the heart of his work is a simple conviction: people do not need vague encouragement as much as they need truthful encouragement. They need words that are clear enough to help, kind enough to receive, and strong enough to matter. That conviction runs through his books, his preaching, his leadership, and his life.
Josh lives in Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida, with his wife, Sarah, and their two children—his favorite people to adventure with.
